It depends on how far you can travel and still make it home. The strongest egg that spawns in a normal area is Nightflame in Titan Temple, listed at $3B/s — but Titan Temple needs 7 billion Speed to enter, so it is out of reach for most players.

The practical answer is: go to the furthest area you can enter and safely run back from, and take that area's best egg. On this site every area page names its best egg and its runner-up, and the overview table lists all eleven areas side by side so you can find the one that matches your current Speed.

If you are still early, the biggest single jump available to you is usually the best egg of the area you just unlocked, not the worst egg of the area ahead of it.

We could not find a verified AFK method for Steal an Egg, so we are not going to invent one. Eggs reset every 5 minutes and they have to be carried back to your pen while the area's guardian is chasing you, so stealing is not something the game lets you do while you are away from the keyboard.

What does keep working while you are not playing is the income of the pets already hatched and sitting in your pen. So the closest thing to an AFK setup is to hatch the highest-income pets you can get and let their income accumulate.

Eggs spawn in nests around each area, next to the creature that guards them. Every area has its own pool of eight eggs, and the whole set resets every 5 minutes, so if the egg you want is not there, wait for the reset.

The reliable way to identify one is by shape, not colour. Egg colours vary between spawns and the colour does not change the income of the pet inside, so a differently coloured egg is still the same egg. Match the silhouette against the full-size image on the egg's page.

We re-check the source data whenever the community wiki changes, and the date of the last check is shown on the homepage and on each area page.

The rankings are generated by sorting the wiki's published income figures, so when a figure changes the ranking changes with it — there is no manual re-ranking step for us to forget.

Colour, no. The wiki is explicit that eggs come in different colours, that colour changes the look of the egg and the pet, and that it does not change the income they generate.

Size, yes. Larger eggs carry a higher value multiplier, so a big version of an egg is worth more than a small one. The trade-off is weight: the wiki notes that a bigger egg is heavier and slows you down, which matters a lot on the run back past the guardian.

Because size is random per spawn, a large version of an area's runner-up egg can beat a small version of its best egg. The ranking tells you which egg to aim for; the size is what you find when you get there.

Because the drop pools are not evenly spread. In areas like Abyss Ocean, Cosmic and Cherry Blossom the top egg is worth many times the second, so the runner-up is a consolation rather than a real alternative.

Volcano is the opposite: its best and second-best eggs are close in value, so taking whichever one is actually on the nest costs you very little.
